Take the stodginess out of your wedding guestbook (or add a creative spin to your reception) with this fab idea spotted at Kate Spade's St. Louis store.
Kate Spade
Kate Spade has some of the most creative store displays ever, most using simple materials to make a lovely statement. And this display, commemorating the brand's collaboration with stationery designer Cheree Berry, is no exception. Here, a bunch of pretty multi-colored envelopes were hung in a grid. Each envelope contained a keepsake card bearing a whimsical message (like, "Today's Your Lucky Day"). To see more of this installation, visit Kate Spade's Behind The Curtain blog.
I think this idea could be adapted as a clever wedding guestbook. Just hang envelopes in an organized grid (use double-stick tape or glue dots to secure them) behind a table. Then, set plenty of slips of paper, pens and stickers nearby. Guests will come up, write a lovely little note, then slip it inside one of the envelopes (closing it with a sticker, so future guests know that it's taken). At the end of the reception, have one of your attendants collect the envelopes for later. So cute. Or, you could tuck favors inside the envelopes and use the display as a decorative alternative to a favor table.
